The Orthodox Union (OU) The Orthodox Union

The Orthodox Union, or more commonly known as the OU, is one of the oldest Orthodox Jewish organizations in the United States. Founded In 1898, It is best known for its kosher supervision service, with the 'Circled-U' symbol found on the labels of many commercial and consumer food products. The OU is a well-known and highly respected organization, which certifies over 250,000 products worldwide.

KHAL ADAS JESHURUN (KAJ) KHAL ADAS JESHURUN

As a prominent administrator for the KAJ, Rabbi Moshe Zvi Edelstein was instrumental in emphasizing the importance of a commitment to the "reliability of kashrus." The KAJ has been in the Kashrus certification business for over 20 years and currently certifies over 40 companies nationwide. Brands covered by the KAJ include, but are not limited to, Rubashkin (Aaron's Best) and Empire.

As a well respected and prominent Rabbi, the Nirbator Rav's, hashgachot are the symbol of the highest standards of kashrus. The Nirbator Rav, also known as Rav Teitelbaum, provides certification to all Meal Mart products. Products from their central kitchen are all made with Yoshon. The “Nikkur” or cleaning of "Chelev" on every piece of meat is done under the watchful eye of Mashgichim Mumchim, or in the "Nikkur" process, those who are "Yirei Hashem". They have learned their trade from other “Minak’rim Mumchim”, who have received Kaballah Nikkur, or the permission to perform the acts of slaughtering in accordance with these rules, from Rabbonim and Geonim (ZY”A) from the previous generation.
